Dear Judy, Leonie, Douglas, Luke and extended family, I am thinking of you all at this very sad time. My memories of Charles date back to our childhood days when we would stay with Auntie Bon and Uncle Norman at East Hills. He was always active and full of life - mischievous and a great tease. In later years I would hear about you all through Auntie Bon and then Elizabeth and Robert. I seem to remember attending Charles and Cathy's wedding. Once again what adventurous and full life Charles enjoyed. Thank you all for the lovely service honouring his life. Warmest Regards, Margaret (first cousin-my mother was Joyce Gillies younger sister of Bonnie)

To all family and friends of Charles Hodsdon, it was wonderful to see this lovely funeral and to reminisce about the times we shared with Charles and wife Cathy in Cooma whilst working for SMEC from 1973 to 1989. We loved their company. Delightful and honourable people. Greg & Vanessa Kemp

My main memory of Charles is of sharing adjoining offices in SMEC Back Creek office in the early 2000s and having many good chats about work, cars and life. I remember also meeting Luke during that time. What a life & career - I did not know even one tenth of this - well played Charles. Nevertheless (like many others in SMEC) we were in parallel places at different times and had some similar experiences including Lom Sak, Thailand (I was there 1972-3) that I also described as being back in the Wild West.

A sad day. Knew and worked with Charlie from the early 1970s through until he retired. Not only technically excellent, but a great mentor, especially when I first joined SMEC. We'll miss him.
